Have you ever imagined a world where rubbish is your energy? All this is made possible by the Community Cooker Foundation (CCF) that encourages sustainable waste management by promoting the use of Community Cookers to incinerate non-recyclable rubbish.

And what if we told you that you could cook, bake and heat water using this rubbish? The Community Cooker is a waste-to-energy technology that incinerates rubbish environmentally correctly at 880-1200 degrees centigrade to generate heat energy for cooking, baking and boiling water in large quantities. The technology meets Kenyan, US EPA and European Environmental standards for gaseous emissions and ash. The Cooker provides an alternative heat energy to charcoal and firewood, reducing the cutting down of trees for cooking fuel.

As of 2020, 17 Community Cookers have been built, 3,601,000 kgs of rubbish burnt and 147,000 trees saved so far!
